The Salon:
Shell and Catherine York, owners of Sunset Strip Tanning Salon, knew exactly what they wanted right from the beginning. "When we began making plans to design our very first salon, our intent was to create an environment more like a spa rather than a typical tanning salon," says Shell. "We designed a lively view, visible from the street, which entices people to open the doors and step in." And once they do, that's when the pampering begins. The contemporary features of the built-in desk and surrounding furnishings set the interior design apart from most. According to Catherine, "The bold images and vibrant layers of color in the finishes were created to give the client an immediate sense of warmth." The two walls facing the street are painted with murals to create an illusion of strolling along Sunset Strip. Catherine states, "Our ultimate goal is to transport our clients' imaginations to a sunny, fun California, creating a haven they would want to visit again and again."
